Seian — Privacy Policy

1. Information We Collect

Intake responses (3 optional questions on background, triggers, and what helps) stored on secure servers for context continuity. Chat messages and session data stored on secure servers to enable ongoing conversation. Journal entries and struggle check-ins stored for personal reference. Email address for account authentication only. No data is classified as health data — Seian is not a medical service.

2. How We Use Data

Personalise conversations using intake responses and session history. Enable access to past conversations and journal entries. No sale, sharing, or transmission of personal data to third parties.

3. Crisis & Harm Detection

Seian detects self-harm keywords (e.g., "suicide") and outward harm keywords (e.g., "hurt someone") via client and server-side checks. When triggered: AI response is blocked. A crisis support card is shown with resources for Canada (1-833-456-4566 / text 45645) and the US (988). An anonymized event log entry is recorded (trigger type and timestamp only — no message content, no personally identifiable information).

Seian does NOT report to authorities, flag users, or monitor for safety purposes. We are not therapists and have no duty to warn. Seian is not a crisis service.

4. Disclosure

No voluntary sharing with police or third parties without a court order. Service providers (DigitalOcean, Anthropic API) are contract-bound to privacy obligations. In the event of a business transfer, users will be notified.

5. Your Rights (PIPEDA)

Access, correct, or delete data at any time from your profile. Email: hello@novellogic.ca. Data deleted upon account deletion request.

6. Security

Data transmitted over HTTPS. Passwords hashed using bcrypt. Payment information not stored — handled by RevenueCat and Apple.

7. Children

Seian is not intended for users under 18.

8. Changes

Policy changes posted at novellogicventures.com/privacy/seian. Continued use constitutes acceptance.
